Outpatient Mental Health Treatment for Adults
The Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is a half-day program held three days per week for adults ages 18 and older. It is designed for individuals who need a higher level of care and more support than traditional weekly therapy, but don’t require the intensity or structure of a full-day program. This program can serve as a step down from inpatient hospitalization or partial hospitalization, or a step up from individual therapy.
The IOP differs from inpatient care in that patients receive treatment for just a few hours a day throughout the week and then return home at the end of the session. Sessions are held Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. Patients may attend the IOP in person at our campus or virtually from any location. For patients with limited time or ability to travel, the IOP format can be ideal.
The goal of our IOP is to promote the highest level of functioning of each patient. With extra support, patients can build coping techniques, learn communication skills and gain new perspectives on their conditions.
