Saint Simons By-The-Sea’s adolescent treatment program is highly specialized and designed for youth ages 12-17 who are suffering from mental health crises associated with severe distress, depression, anxiety, psychosis and other psychiatric disorders. Some of these teens may be exhibiting dangerous behaviors and/or are struggling with substance use issues. Patients are treated in a therapeutic environment that provides medical and psychiatric stabilization as well as 24-hour nursing care.

While many of our adolescent patients may be experimenting with substance use, some may also be experiencing more serious issues with their substance use requiring specialized intervention to address any chemical dependency or addiction. In addition to the mental health treatment approach, these patients may receive medically monitored detoxification and specialized addiction-focused therapies to begin a path toward sustainable recovery.
