St. Simons by-the-Sea offers a structured, Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) utilizing psychotherapy for treating adults 18+, with a virtual telehealth option as well as an in-person option. This approach is designed to provide continued stabilization and intervention through the use of evidence-based therapy techniques stemming from the tenets of cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, and solution-focused therapy.
Our Intensive Outpatient Program is designed to meet the needs of those persons who usually function at a relatively effective level. However, they are experiencing problems that interfere with family, work, social, school, or interpersonal relationships. By allowing the patient to remain in contact with the situation causing dysfunction, the stressful issues can be addressed on a day to day basis as they occur, rather than within the artificial environment of a more intensive level of care.
Our program is led by a highly experienced clinical team of Master’s level clinicians to provide process, psychoeducational, and experiential group sessions to help patients recognize unhealthy thinking patterns, understand how to manage emotions, and learn how to change harmful habits. Individualized treatment planning, individual, family therapy, and comprehensive aftercare planning are also facilitated for our patients.
